Soneto IV de William Shakespeare en inglés y castellano

Unthrifty loveliness why dost thou spend, / Pródiga belleza, ¿por qué gastas
Upon thyself thy beauty's legacy? / En ti mismo tu herencia de hermosura?
Nauture's bequest gives nothing but doth lend, / Natura no regala, sólo presta,
And being frank she lends to those are free: / Y presta, generosa, a quien la imita.
Then beauteous niggard why dost thou abuse, / Bello avaro, ¿por qué desaprovechas
The bounteous largess given thee to give? / Tu fortuna cuantiosa sin brindarla?
Profiless usurer why dost thou use / Pésimo usurero, ¿cómo usas
So great a sum of sums yet canst not live? / Una suma tan grande y nada obtienes?
For having traffic with thyself alone, / Pues empeñado en comerciar contigo
Thou of thyself thy sweet self dost deceive, / Contigo te defraudas de ti mismo.
Then how when nature calls thee to be gone, / Cuando venza el plazo de Natura,
What acceptable audit canst thou leave?/ ¿Qué dejarás a tu acreedora?

Thy unus'd beauty must be tomb'd with three, / Si ahorras tu belleza, irá a la tumba;
Which used lives th'executor to be. Inviértela, y será tu albacea.
